Proposal Policy
- We recommend that observers interested in VERITAS data establish a
collaboration with a full or associate VERITAS member (either a member of
the blazar working group, or any other
full or associate member
of the VERITAS collaboration ).
- The VERITAS member will be responsible for submitting the observation
proposal to the VERITAS Time Allocation Comittee (TAC) which administers
the VERITAS observation program. The TAC meets in August and September of
each year and decides on the observation program for one year.
- Once an observation is approved and the data have been taken, the
VERITAS member will have the responsibility to reduce the data.
- You can freely negotiate the responsibilities for the analysis and
interpretation of the data with the VERITAS member.
- In case of an urgent (Target of Opportunity) observation which
requires
swifter response than granted by the regular TAC meetings, please contact
one of the contact persons of the blazar group. We will try to
get an observation approval by directly contacting the key-persons of the
TAC.
Publication Policy
- Publications including VERITAS data for the first time must
include the complete collaboration author list. The content of the paper
has to be approved by the full collaboration.
- Publications including published VERITAS data should include the
first author of that paper (or a subset of people involved in the
multiwavelength proposal).
